Why Thirsty Tree?
Well... the book of Psalms in the Bible begins with a beautiful metaphor of a person that is considered blessed, they are ‘like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season’ (Psalm 1:3). They are planted deep in God’s word; they ‘delight in the law of the Lord’ (Psalm 1:2).
As Christians, our delight is in Christ, he is the Word (John 1:1), our Light (John 8:12) and our Salvation (Rom 10:9-10). He is the one that sustains us (Col 1:17) and through all the blessings of God come (2 Cor 1:20). As we trust in Him, he gives us his Spirit so that we can endure whatever happens in this life knowing with certainty that God is with us and that one day we will live with him forever. We desire to be like thirsty trees, reaching down deep into God’s word, singing and writing music in thankfulness for all that God has done in sending his own Son to lay his life down for ours. And we want others to know this good news too!
